Overview

Thousands of years ago, there were five courageous friends from Kanuşti living in the Land of the White Horses in the unique geography formed by the fairy chimneys in Central Anatolia. Kosraş in love with the beautiful Muşela was a famous rider as well as being well known for the horses he bred. The tall and stout ironmonger Şutiyu who was the favourite of women because of the beautiful beads and jewellery he made was in love with the beautiful and very talented Şula. Şula’s lazy brother was in love with music. During the preparations for the Kubaba Festival, Aryo, the son of the neighbouring Golat Satrap changes the lives of these five friends in an unforeseen manner. They need the help of the gods as well as that of the chief oracle of the Şurhum Temple to save Muşela tricked and kidnapped by Aryo from becoming a slave.

İsmet Bertan

He was born in 1959, in a little village named Piyadeler in Alaşehir, Manisa. After graduating from Erzurum Atatürk University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature, he worked as a teacher for a couple of years. Then he moved to İzmir and worked as a documentary program producer and director at TRT (Turkish Radio Television) for many years. His first children’s novel Speedy Tosbi (Hızlı Tosbi, 2005) was published simultaneously with its picture book (in “Colour Your First Book” series) for younger readers Little Tosbi Looks for His House (Minik Tosbi Evini Arıyor, 2005).
