She was born in İstanbul. She graduated from Boğaziçi University’s Industrial Engineering department in 1982. She started her writing career during her university years. She had also translation studies and some of her translations took place in literary magazines of those years. She worked as a journalist at İzmir Life magazine. She wrote articles for various web sites and newspapers. In 2011, she presented a literature-based TV programme named “Book Club” and she hosted many authors. Her first novels were translated to Bulgarian and Romanian. Her first young adult novel Z-Age Loneliness (Z Yalnızlığı, 2017) published by ON8 and she came forward with her realistic telling style in contemporary literature. Her latest novel is also for young adults: The Then-And-Now Family (Neydik N’olduk Ailesi, 2019). She is a cinephile and she collects graphic novels. Acu lives in İzmir with her husband and she has a son.
