She was born in Izmit in 1974. She completed her university education in Istanbul, Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics. After working in the funds management field for a long time, she has worked at Notos Kitap Publishing House since 2012 as publications coordinator. Her first story book, also her first children’s book, Breakfast for One, published in 2012, is the story of children who imagine while playing house. Published by Günışığı Kitaplığı, This Is Our Home Now! (2021) was brought to life with the colorful illustrations of the artist, Huban Korman. Continuing her literary studies, Emir lives in Istanbul; she has a son.
